Jonathan Bowman is the CEO and co-founder of the board. For more than 20 years, he has been an entrepreneur, designer, and technology leader, usually all at once. At the start of the dot-com era, Jonathan wrote and created online cartoons in Silicon Valley. That ended when 9/11 happened, and he was bit by a patriotic bug.

Jonathan spent 10 years in the Navy as a healthcare practitioner for US Navy SEALs. During his time in the Navy he was trained as an instructor and ciriculum writer. Deciding he wanted to help people, he found a way to help through technology and launched his own design firm in Norfolk, Virginia.

In 2012, Jonathan ventured back to Silicon Valley and has been building digital software experiences there with companies like NETGEAR, Arlo, and AT&T.

Jonathan and Darren created the board to provide infrastructure to the design and research communities and to open up the fields to marginalized practitioners who struggle to gain entry into the labor market.
